Terms of Service
Effective July 3, 2026
The short version
- FocusPocus is a paid subscription. You'll only ever be charged after you start a subscription, via Stripe.
- Cancel anytime. Any charge is fully refundable within 14 days, no questions asked.
- We're in the founding phase: the product is real and moving fast, which means things change and occasionally wobble.
- Your data stays yours — see the Privacy Policy.
- Be a normal, decent human with the service and we'll get along fine.
1. The service
FocusPocus ("we", "us") provides a life-management dashboard: tasks, money, calendar, home, and an AI copilot in one place. FocusPocus is currently in its beta / founding phase. That means, honestly: features will change and occasionally be removed, there may be rough edges and downtime, and we're a small team shipping quickly. We'll always try to leave the product better than we found it, and founding members get a direct line to us at hello@focuspocus.tech.
2. Your account
You need an account to use FocusPocus (sign-in is handled by Auth0). Keep your login secure, give us accurate information, and don't share one account between multiple people. You must be at least 13 to use the service (and old enough to form a contract, or have a parent's permission).
3. Subscriptions and billing
- FocusPocus is a paid subscription. Billing starts only when your paid access begins — joining the waitlist costs nothing and creates no obligation.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- If you joined the waitlist, the founding pricing shown to you when you joined is honored when your access begins.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. If we ever change prices, we'll tell you in advance and it will never apply retroactively — you'll always see any new price before it's charged.
4. Refunds and cancellation
Simple and deliberate:
- 14-day full refund on any charge. If you're within 14 days of any charge — first or renewal — email hello@focuspocus.tech and we'll refund it in full. No forms, no questions.
- Cancel anytime. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
- No clawbacks. We never bill for partial months after you cancel, and we don't retroactively charge for time already used inside a paid period.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service. Specifically: use it only for lawful purposes; connect only accounts and services that are yours; don't attempt to break, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service; don't resell access or scrape other people's data. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or put other users' data at risk — we'll tell you why.
6. Your data and privacy
How we handle data is covered by the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. The essentials: bank connections via Plaid are read-only, we never sell your data, and you can disconnect integrations or delete everything at any time.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
FocusPocus displays information — including financial information — that comes from services you connect. We work hard to show it accurately, but we don't control those sources: verify important numbers with your bank before acting on them. FocusPocus is an organizational tool, not financial advice, and not medical advice or treatment of any kind.
During the beta / founding phase especially, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (for example, for fraud or gross negligence), and nothing here takes away consumer rights you're entitled to under the law where you live.
8. Ending the service
You can close your account whenever you like. If we ever discontinue FocusPocus entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice, a way to export your data, and a refund of the unused portion of anything you've prepaid.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer, this doesn't displace mandatory consumer protections of the place you live.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new effective date. For material changes we'll email account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
